Artist Feature – Micblake from The Congress

The Voice of Micblake has remained an intricate member of the bay area Live Hiphopcentric community of music. “The Mic’s” roots are grounded in gospel and jazz where he trained and performed with the Hawkins family, Danni Bell Armstrong, Darryl Cooley, josh Jones Charles Hamelton Peterapplebaum as a singer and trumpet player. After High school His work with the Timex social club allowed MicBlake to enter the world of Hip Hop touring with Run DMC, Whodini, The Beasty Boys and L.L.Cool J. Upon His return to the Bay Micblake the poet moved toward the live stage working with the Broun Fellinis, and the Mofessionals. In 1992 Micblake Hooked up with the gound breaking Hip Hop Jazz group Alphabet Soup touring with the Roots and taking the vibe of San Francisco world wide with His bay area allstar group BopCIty. Micblake has played with the likes of carlos santana, guru, michell Indegi ochello, angel, primus, the greatful dead , bobby hutchens , rat dog, steve smith, Zig Monolese, Jay Lane, Kirk Hammet, Gary Novak, Charlie Hunter, Christian Mcbryde, Marcus Shellby, and the list goes on. His new venture with the Congress Has proven to exhibit Mic’s depth and versatility as a vocal artist.
