Now over 2 years down that road, the project has more than<br \/>\nfulfilled Matt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s main objective; to stay creative and tell the tale of the<br \/>\nmusician\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s journey. Members of Sound songs have been downloaded all over<br \/>\nthe world and have caught the attention of many, including, Peter Finch\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153FOG FILES\u00e2\u20ac\u009d on KFOG 104.5, San Francisco Bay Area\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s biggest radio station.<br \/>\nKFOG has also has included \u00e2\u20ac\u0153That I Can Do\u00e2\u20ac\u009d a fan favorite and also a<br \/>\ncollaboration with choreographer Christine Cali on the stations 2011<br \/>\nsummer local scene CD with other local favorites such as The Mother Hips.<br \/>\nThe Members of Sound song \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Move Thru Me\u00e2\u20ac\u009d was the title and theme of a<br \/>\n3-day dance\/music performance in San Francisco\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Mission Theatre in<br \/>\nFebruary 2011.<\/p>\n<p>After playing 100 some odd gigs, creating a duet and video for \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You Are<br \/>\nThe Chords\u00e2\u20ac\u009d with singer\/songwriter Megan Slankard, working with 20<br \/>\ndifferent musicians and an array of producers who have worked with artists<br \/>\nsuch as Four Non-Blonds, Dan The Automator, Train and Galactic, The<br \/>\nWelcome Matt\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Members of Sound has neared the finish line, with a sold<br \/>\nout performance at San Francisco\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s favorite hipster live music venue Caf\u00c3\u00a9<br \/>\nDu Nord, yet the endeavor is far from over. In addition to all 24 MEMBERS<br \/>\nOF SOUND singles being released on CD\u00e2\u20ac\u2122S VOL 1-13 and VOL 14-24, a<br \/>\nconceptual Members of Sound CD with bonus tracks and special guests is in<br \/>\nthe works for 2012, along with new videos, and national tours.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Matt has found the secret to truly personable songwriting. Evoking the<br \/>\nBeatles circa Rubber Soul with a little Ray Davies and a little Cake as he<br \/>\ndrifts somewhere between Wilco\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Jeff Tweedy and Bob Dylan, mastering a<br \/>\nsense of expert lyrical spacing and rasping dreamy opinion.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nIndiemusic.com<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In San Francisco,&#8221; a track from his second solo record, &#8220;Empire Days,&#8221;<br \/>\nwas picked up by Triple AAA megastation KFOG and featured on their 2004<br \/>\nSummer Sampler, alongside Michael Franti of Spearhead and Matt Nathanson<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fatopie.com\" target=\"_blank\">FAT OPIE<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.songbirdfestival.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Fat-Opie1.bmp\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-602\" title=\"Fat Opie\" src=\"http:\/\/www.songbirdfestival.org\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Fat-Opie1.bmp\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>With four full-length cds, tours, airplay and press, Bay Area band\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fatopie.com\" target=\"_blank\">FAT OPIE<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0continues to invent and reinvent what can be termed \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Americana\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. From the modern, electrified dynamics of their third release <em>Airstream<\/em> to the acoustic, live-performance record <em>Otis<\/em>. <em>Their Don&#8217;t Want To Be Gay In Texas<\/em> is now a staple in their set list.<\/p>\n<p>Successes include their song <em>Bullets in My Briefcase<\/em> winning a national band search sponsored by 7UP\/SONICNET(MTV). This included a prize of $15,000. The song <em>Mouth Like a Trucker<\/em> was featured in the motion picture ALONG THE WAY.<\/p>\n<p>The music stopped for several years when singer\/songwriter Scott Mickelson became seriously ill. During that time bassist Robin Hildebrant began building his own recording studio. Inspired by the new possibilities, Mickelson started writing their strongest material to date.
